QuranFlow Revamp — Stakeholder Feedback Synthesis
Synthesis of the four feedback documents in /feedback for new app/ (April–July 2026):
the Coaches' Questionnaire (11 responses × 27 questions, Apr 10–11), the Teachers' IT
Revamp Discussion transcript, the narrated App Wishlist (26 items, Apr 22), and the
Mock App Feedback review of the v3 mockup (19 screenshots).
Sources at a glance
| Source | Perspective | Strongest signal |
|---|---|---|
| Coaches' Questionnaire | 11 coaches, workflow detail | Unified review workspace; annotated feedback |
| IT Revamp Discussion | Coaches + program lead + platform lead (Kamran) | Messaging/announcements decision; scheduling philosophy |
| App Wishlist | Program operator (role-organized: Y1/Y2 student, teacher) | Teacher tooling backlog; Year-2 appointment lifecycle |
| Mock App Feedback | Coach reviewing v3 mockup | Copy consistency; scrolling; "Behind" screen; Recordings section |
Top findings by convergence (≥3 sources)
- Teachers can't see the assignment text while reviewing audio — the single most damning fact about the current app. Wishlist states it outright; questionnaire's #1 workspace complaint (8/11 coaches run a patchwork of notebooks, printed sheets, Excel trackers, second devices).
- Announcement board + guarded 1:1 teacher–student messaging replaces the community board — decided on the call; audience filters by year/level; spam guardrails (length warnings, weekly caps).
- Reminders + calendar integration everywhere — 15-min student / 30-min teacher reminders, add-to-calendar. A live timezone bug (calendar shows 7 PM for an 8 PM class) plus DST misalignment across US/Europe/Turkey/Egypt keeps re-triggering confusion. All times must display in the student's local time.
- Attendance is a black hole — no RSVP, no in-app attendance log, near-zero recording views; "100% of the time currently, we are going off of assumptions."
- Report Issue button on every screen — expected rocky launch; capture screen/app-version/account context automatically.
- Feedback history must be findable — previous feedback (incl. past semesters) surfaced prominently; cross-teacher shared notes for Year 2.
Coach questionnaire specifics (ranked by mentions)
- Unified coach workspace: assignment text + per-student notes/history + time tracking + feedback recorder on one screen (8/11).
- Visual/annotated feedback synced to audio: mark up submission text, comparison clips, makharij diagrams (5/11).
- Correction–resubmission loop: re-record just the corrected portions, coach acknowledges (5/11).
- Absorb Time Clock Wizard into the app; auto-log hours/attendance from Zoom duration ≥75% (4/11).
- Voice replies instead of the text comment box, prompted right after feedback playback (3/11; two coaches proposed it independently). Current comment feature is barely used and text gets truncated (bug).
- Device split: 5 mobile-only, 4 both, 1 desktop-only (Ibrahim: "dedicated teachers' portal") — coach surface must be responsive, not mobile-exclusive.
Decisions already made on the teachers' call
- Replace community board with 1:1 messaging (both years) + filterable one-way announcement board. Guardrails: ~800-char length warning, possible weekly caps.
- Hybrid 1:1 booking: pre-book the same weekly slot for all 15 weeks during a booking window, or book week-to-week. (Anecdotes: midnight slot-camping; students skipping weeks when their slot was taken.)
- Student availability collected at onboarding; hybrid teacher-first/student-exception scheduling for live sessions.
- Automated post-session survey loop (attended? why not?) with AI-aggregated trends — flagged as a priority even ahead of the app.
Wishlist requirements (data-model relevant)
- Roles: Year 1 student, Year 2 student, Teacher (Y1 = submission-centric, Y2 = appointment-centric).
- Submission object binds: assignment text, student audio, teacher annotations (text-span anchored), timestamped feedback, teacher audio replies, private + shared notes, pass/fail, full multi-semester history.
- Business rules: 2 submissions/week limit; 5–10 min revoke window that does NOT count against the limit; semester calendar with pre-semester countdown state.
- Appointment lifecycle: booking (recurring/flex) → 15-min reminder → attendance → notes (text+voice, visible to every teacher who has met the student) → auto email escalation after 2 consecutive absences.
- Content access: teachers see all levels/mastery courses; students see levels up to their current one. Assessment rubrics (First Assessment, EOC) surfaced before review.
- Recordings organized in a calendar view, not a flat list.
- One AI ask: feedback summarization.
v3 mockup feedback (screen-level)
- Eliminate the dedicated "Behind" screen → notification instead; design the multi-week-behind case explicitly.
- One-screen layouts; students miss anything below the fold.
- Copy consistency ("2 of 3 remaining" vs "watched"; avoid "Behind", "Pre-Sem").
- Local time, not hardcoded EST.
- Add a Recordings section.
- Reduce color variety; single theme. Accessibility: fine/light fonts hard to read.
- Praised: weekly rhythm structure, 3-step model, profile options.
Explicit backlog (valid, not in v1 scope)
- Student-centric QRC scheduling algorithm (cost-vs-value question unresolved).
- 20 appointment credits per semester (make-up sessions).
- AI feedback summaries; AI post-session survey analysis.
- Ready-made lesson asset banks for coaches (slides/games/exercises).
- Peer community channel revival.
- Embedded Zoom.
- Hammad's program-strategy items (enrollment policy, email SLA, marketing) — route to program strategy, not app design.
