The ambient layerQuranFlow · v6 · Aug 26 2026 · the journey verdict
v5 asked what the widgets look like; v6 asks what earns a place. The app is opened two or three times a week, but the week holds ~13 "knowing" tasks a glance can satisfy — so the board is rebuilt as the week itself, Saturday's drop to Sunday's close, showing only the surfaces that survived a journey test: what decision does this change, at what moment, without opening the app? Every v5 code is accounted for in the ledger. Evidence: the capability map, the Nov 27 audit, PRODUCT-SPEC/DATA-MODEL, the Lejla record, and a two-sided design debate on the verse.
What changed in v6
The journey is the spine — v4's week structure returns, re-anchored on Monday's level class.
Every v5 code gets a verdict in the ledger. Cut: the verse pair, the instrument, the numeral-turns frame; the sage square merges into W20.
Attempts language removed everywhere — the cap was struck Aug 11 (U-176). Submissions read "Sent Wed 9:12 PM," never a counter.
The passage citation moves onto This Week's Record row — the knowing-task the verse widget used to carry, in four words.
Two new frames: W19 the Saturday drop (the lesson title's first ambient appearance) and W20 Today's Sessions (one design, two sizes).
The verse becomes the Illumination (W21/W22 + SB1): a complete ayah or a designed ornament, never a clip. Kept as an opt-in choice, P2 — a brand call with Lejla.
The This Week family and Year 2 redesigned (W19/W02/W17/W18/W05/W12 + W06/W07): checklist rows out, W20's tile grammar in — one hero row, identity disc, state in the corner (Kamran, Aug 26).
Half the words — verdicts and laws stay; essays don't.

One line carries the whole assignment: videos, honest duration, citation.
The deadline is dated here — on Saturday, "due Sunday" would read as tomorrow. From Monday the weekday is unambiguous and the header reverts.
Decision changed: watch this weekend, arrive at Monday's class with questions — the program's own rhythm.
At Sunday midnight the numeral rolls 8 → 9 (system numeric transition) and the line becomes the new topic. That's the whole celebration.

One design, two sizes — the medium lists today (three rows, then "+1 more"); the small shows the next session in W10's sage-square anatomy.
Species color per row — sage circles, plum classes and 1:1s — the day's shape before a single word.
No button, by law: a schedule has no single act. Inside the 15-minute window the next row grows a Join — the one moment it does.
"Nothing else today" closes the list, so silence can be trusted; when the next session isn't today, the timebox gains the day ("Thu 7:00 PM").
Midweek · The recording — "did I record yet? what passage?"
W02This Week, corrected P1Year 1
Redesigned to the tile grammar (Kamran, Aug 26): the checklist rows are gone. The current step is the hero — identity disc, real-size title — with the state in the corner, where W20 puts its timebox.

One grammar across every medium now: eyebrow · hero row · corner · one act. The corner holds the time; the state chip takes it only when there is no time to show (W07's chip sits under the name because its corner holds the ended 1:1's time).
"2 of 3 watched" is the lost-place answer; "Then record: Al-Mulk, verses 1 to 3" is the citation, rehomed.
The waiting pair stays buttonless — nothing asked, nothing gilded. "Feedback within 48 hours" is the app's own promise line, so she doesn't reopen to check.
Attempts language is gone everywhere (U-176) — no counter exists to show.

The chosen widget · The Illumination — kept as a choice, not a default
The utility set speaks only in obligations, to an audience documented as perfectionist — and Lejla's brief is "warm, personal, not a cold hard numbers app." The Illumination is the one surface that asks nothing: devotional presence, not rehearsal — her program on the Home Screen as something she loves, not only something she owes. The opt-in second widget. P2 — a brand call with Lejla.
W21W22The two lawful states P2 · opt-inYear 1 + Year 2
A complete ayah or no ayah — the text is never harmed to fit.
The contract: one complete ayah from this week's passage, fit decided at timeline build — never an ellipsis. No ayah fits → the shamsa and the citation. Kills the lengthening-passage objection for any future curriculum.
Concedes permanently: the rehearsal claim (practice reads in-app, on mushaf script), every watch/accessory placement, the Lock Screen.
No counter, no button, no state; changes only at the week boundary. Read and never tapped is success.
Tinted/clear modes: the paintings die in recoloring — fallback is the completion-shamsa template vector + citation.
The counter-case, recorded: unmeasurable by design; warmth already lives in the utility set's chrome. Hence P2 and a choice, not P1 and a default.

The 1:1 is the centerpiece — disc, name, timebox at full size (13.5px title, up from 11) — because the booked slot is what gets missed.
The timebox goes past-tone once the 1:1 ends; Notes ready wakes the surface, same as Year 1's flip.
Unbooked week: the row reads "No 1:1 booked yet" with a gold "Book this week ▸" — a fact and an affordance, never a slot count (Q14).
